Dr. Naylor joined the faculty in 1987 and served as director of the Section of Neuropsychology from 2009 to her retirement in October, 2012. After retiring as an associate professor of Neuropsychology/Neurology, Dr. Naylor opened her private practice, Triad Neuropsychological Services, PLLC in October of 2012.
Professional services
Dr. Naylor provides comprehensive psychoeducation and neuropsychological assessment of cognitive skills in children age 12 and above and adults. Such evaluation provides a profile of cognitive strengths and weaknesses following acquired brain injury (e.g., head injury, stroke, brain tumor) or related to learning disabilities or attention deficit disorder. From the evaluation, Dr. Naylor can develop a customized treatment plan for improving deficit areas while capitalizing on the client's strengths.
Dr. Naylor can also offer cognitive rehabilitation to improve skill areas such as attention, executive functions, fluency, problem solving, nonverbal processing and/or memory. Dr. Naylor has been providing cognitive rehabilitation services for 30 years and has worked with a wide variety of clients, both adults and children. She has specialized in working with students who display an over-focused attentional style, fluency issues or nonverbal processing problems. While she has experience in helping adults from many professions reach a wide range of goals, she has specialized in helping high functioning individuals make that final step in returning to work or school. Her client list includes many workers at every level including business owners and professionals.
Evaluations can range from 2 hours to all day depending on the question and purpose. Most last from 9am to 3pm. An initial interview will allow Dr. Naylor to review your case and determine the need and benefit of a formal evaluation. If you have recently undergone testing, she can review those findings and offer suggestions on appropriate treatment or intervention methods.
